Comic Strip
This was the first draft of the comic strip that I created. Having never created a comic before, this was a new experience and I had a lot to learn. Before starting, I watched a few videos on making comic strips and looked up layouts that I could use. While this first draft was not the best work, I was proud of it. However, I did realise that it was a bit confusing so I decided to alter the content of the comic strip a bit and started working on the second draft. I also worked to improve the aesthetics of it.
This is my second and finalised draft. While I was working on this comic strip, I sent the partially completed comic to Mr Sean for some feedback. He suggested that I could find out what crops are grown in the Negros Occidental and use them in the comic. The top crops grown in the Negros Occidental are rice and corn which is why I included corn in the comic strip. Throughout designing this poster, I continuously researched tips for making comics and looked through various comic strips for ideas and inspiration. This was definitely a fulfilling experience to be able to make something from scratch. I think being able to create a comic strip has thought me new skills such as computer-aided design. This process of creating a comic strip also developed the skill of being able to learn and find resources on how to do or create things by yourself is important to have and will be useful in my future.
