Possible Sponsors
In order for this project to be carried out successfully, sponsors are required.
Some examples of what funding is required for:
-
The cart to be attached to a motorbike for transport purposes
-
Equipment/tools required, such as shovels
-
Facilitators to go down to the villagers for education purposes
-
Purchasing of the test kits for monitoring purposes

Two sponsors were considered and they are Temasek Foundation and World Vision Singapore.

This organisation was considered based on its purpose. The Temasek Foundation website states:
Temasek Foundation supports a diverse range of programmes that uplift lives and communities in Singapore and beyond
The purpose of the Temasek Foundation is in line with the purpose of this project. Furthermore, for the financial year 19/20, the total funding committed was $84 million. Therefore, the Temasek Foundation is the first choice for a sponsor.

World Vision Singapore was considered because they have current programmes for clean water and sanitation. These programmes are related to this project because open defecation may occur in water sources, such as rivers. These rivers may be used for bathing, washing of clothes, utensils and foodstuffs, making these items more susceptible to contamination with bacteria found in human faeces, leading to the spread of diseases. This project is therefore also related to proper sanitation and the availability of clean water.

However, being a non-profit organisation, World Vision Singapore obtains most of its funding from donators. For the year 2020, 84.4% of their donations were used for programmes that benefit children, families and communities in need.

Therefore, World Vision Singapore would be the second choice for a sponsor.
