How will the Bagasse be Transported?
When deciding how bagasse can be transported, two options were considered:

-
Transport by the factory
-
Having the villagers retrieve the bagasse themselves

After weighing both options according to the table below, transport by the villagers was selected.
Transport by Factory
Transport by Villagers

1. Money
2. Manpower
1. Motorbike (villagers')
2. A cart

If the factory was asked to transport the bagasse from the factory to the village, they may be unwilling to do so as this would cost money and human resources. The money would be required to transport the bagasse in vehicles such as trucks and would require manpower to do the transporting. As the factory may not receive anything in return, unless they are willing to use human faeces fertiliser for the sugarcane farms associated with the factory, they do not have an incentive to transport the bagasse to the villagers.
The Malogo river is near the Victorias Milling Company, Inc, and it takes between 11 to 30 minutes by car or motorbike, depending on which part of the river the start point is. Someone living in the villages along the Malogo river is likely to work at the factory. Therefore, it would be more feasible to get those who work at the factory to transport the bagasse from the factory back to their village to be distributed, using their own vehicles like motorbikes. With the help of a sponsor, a cart can be provided for the villagers. The cart can be attached to a motorbike that would facilitate bagasse transport, as seen in the picture below.
